HAT FORUM Sat July 20, 11am OISE

HAT FORUM
DATE:  Saturday July 20, 11am - 1pm, OISE
LOCATION:  OISE, 252 Bloor Street West
TOPIC:   "Labels and labelling"
FACILITATOR:  Morgan Rector

Once you label me, you negate me.
  - Soren Kierkegaard
What did Kierkegaard mean by that statement?
Is labeling necessary or unnecessary?

Embracing and adopting the labels affixed to us by others: is this “selling out” or a savvy way to thrive in a society that prefers to discriminate by labelling people and lumping them into groups rather than value each person as an individual? Do the ends justify the means?

All are welcome to this discussion.

HAT FORUM, Sat. July 13, 11am - 1pm, OISE

HAT FORUM,
DATE:  Sat. July 11, 11am - 1pm
LOCATION:  OISE, 252 Bloor Street W
TOPIC:  'Listening' without Evaluation,  provided by Bill Kennedy.

Is a conversation in which this is achieved a real conversation?
If not, what's missing?
If yes, what is it's role among nations?

All are welcome.
